What inspired you to dedicate your career to helping people with diabetes (or metabolic health)?
What inspired you to dedicate your career to helping people with diabetes (or metabolic health)?
What inspired me to dedicate my career to helping people with diabetes and metabolic health? Because for me, diabetes is not just a condition of glucose. It's a condition of emotions, life patterns, and self-worth. I have seen brilliant, disciplined people crumble under the weight of guilt, frustration, and self-blame. Not because they didn't know what to eat or they didn't know when to move, but because nobody helped them understand why they ate what they ate, or why they did what they did, or how stress, loneliness, and fatigue hijack the best of our intentions. My inspiration comes from watching how small shifts in mindset, a little awareness, a little compassion, a little structure, could completely change someone's health trajectory. I realized that the real healing begins when you stop fighting with your body and start listening to your body. I'm driven by the truths, the two important truths that one, behavior drives biology. If we can change the way we think, we can transform how our bodies behave. And second is that data without empathy fails. So people don't need more numbers; they need context, they need compassion, and they need clarity.

What is one guiding philosophy or principle I bring into my work with Heal participants? At the heart of Healed, I hold on to one philosophy very closely, which is that tiny, consistent changes done with awareness and mindfulness outperform big temporary bursts of willpower in every person or every participant, or every member that I work with. For me, it's not a project to be fixed, it's a person to be understood. I believe that's when the real breakthrough happens. When you start noticing patterns without judgment. How stress affects your sugar, how rest affects your choices, how emotions shape your cravings. You stop being at war with yourself. That's when the real healing begins. Apart from my professional role, I consistently practice mindfulness meditation. I think that's something that keeps me very grounded and in touch with myself. And I feel when I'm in touch with myself, I'm able to function well. I read, and I do yoga. I really fill my cup emotionally and nourish my soul when I spend time with my loved ones and my pets. And I like to cook sometimes, and just do nothing. That's also something that helps me really stay grounded and feel more fulfilled.
