IF I GAVE YOU EVERYTHING, WILL YOU DO IT?
What if I handed you the tools,
The knowledge, the time—no more rules?
Would you rise, would you try, would you chase that goal,
Or would your mind whisper, “Not now, not whole”?
The Mind is a Master of Escape
The mind loves to run, to find a way out,
It feeds on doubts, it dances in doubt.
“Too good to be true,” it says with a grin,
“Blame the environment, the world we’re in.”
“There’s no right equipment, no right place,
No coach to guide me through this race.
No time, no support, no way to eat right,
The costs are too high; this isn’t my fight.”
You convince yourself it’s not today,
That maybe tomorrow you’ll find your way.
But tomorrow, as we know, won’t always come,
While your health slips away, and you’re left numb.
The Framework of Denial
Psychologists like James Prochaska speak of the Stages of Change,
How we move from denial, through resistance, then rearrange.
In the Precontemplation Stage, we say “Not me, not now,”
But deep inside, we know, we’ve made a silent vow.
This stage is where the mind makes its stand,
Escaping the future with excuses in hand.
You tell yourself the pain won’t grow,
Those sleepless nights won’t start to show.
Your organs won’t tire, your body won’t strain,
But denial, my friend, is a master of pain.
The Mirage of Tomorrow
You live in the mirage that tomorrow’s the day,
That you’ll wake up, and then, you’ll find your way.
But why wait, when today could be new?
When the tools are before you—right here, for you?
A Path Forward
Research on self-efficacy, from Albert Bandura’s realm,
Tells us belief is the key to helm.
When we think we can, we act, we strive,
It’s not the tools, but our belief that keeps us alive.
You said, “If I had the knowledge, I’d start the grind.”
But what if it’s belief, not knowledge, that binds?
What if I told you: the tools are in hand,
The coach, the meal plan, the clinical demand.
Would you rise, would you say, “I’ll begin this ride”?
Or would you let the mind slip back, to hide?
If You Said Yes—Then Come to Heald
If you said, “Yes, I’ll do it, no more delay,”
Then come to Heald, where barriers melt away.
We’ve the tools, the knowledge, the time to provide,
The help, the guidance to be by your side.
But if you said “No,” well, then here’s the truth,
The mind convinces you with quiet sleuth:
Tomorrow’s the day, it whispers again,
But tomorrow won’t save you from your own pain.
You’ll deny it for now because it’s easy to bear,
The alternate mirage—the future you wear.
I Was the Second Guy
I was that second guy until I broke,
No more excuses; to myself I spoke:
“Let me seek the help to find my way,
For health, for life, for today.”
The Tools Are Yours—Will You Rise?
So here we are, you and I,
With the tools, the time, and the reason why.
Will you stand and say, “I’ll do it today”?
Or will the mind convince you to walk away?
Let’s rise together, the path is laid,
For your health, your life—no more charade.
If you’ve ever been stuck in the contemplation stage—waiting for the “right time”—it’s time to realize that the first step to health is belief in yourself, no matter the tools. Embrace that journey today, with Heald to guide you on your way.
